The Kansas Young Professionals Summit would like to invite your young professional organization to apply to host the 2018 and 2019 statewide conferences.

The Summit aims to bring YP’s from across the state together to learn, to network and to build a statewide coalition who can work together to better promote and expand the goals of young professionals, their communities and the state of Kansas.

The Kansas Young Professionals Summit was first held in Hutchinson in 2010 and was started by a group of Reno County Young Professionals. The Summit moved to Topeka, followed by Salina for two years. It has been hosted the past two years by the Young Professionals of Wichita organization in Wichita.

The willingness to host the Summit for two consecutive years and a dedicated group of volunteers ready to take on the task of planning a state wide conference, including, but not limited to the ability to:

  • Secure a venue with multiple break-out session rooms that can hold up to 500 people broken up across the available number of rooms, and that can accommodate up to 500 people in a banquet setting for opening, keynote lunch, and closing sessions
  • Secure hotel accommodations for out of town guests
  • Brainstorm ideas for format
  • Identify and schedule speakers
  • Maintain website and social media for the Summit
  • Market for and advertise the event across the state
  • Sell sponsorships to ensure adequate revenue to cover expenses and generate net income at the level desired by the host organization

All of the information gathered over the past years, along with the Kansas YP Summit website and social media sites, will be passed on and transferred to the chosen city and organization. Previous cities will be available to answer questions, but planning and organizing of the event will fall to the new host city and organization. At the end of two years, the host city will be responsible for choosing the city that will next host the Summit. No funds are transferred from the previous host to new hosts.
