In Fall 2017 YPW was presented with an idea of connecting young high-achieving airmen with local high-achieving young professionals, with the goal of establishing relationships that would improve pride in Wichita, drive economic growth, and improve quality of life. Mission Wichita is collaborative program between Young Professionals of Wichita, McConnell Air Force Base, Friends of McConnell, and other community partners.
Mission Wichita offers participants the opportunity to experience Wichita from a unique perspective, with the intentions of demystifying McConnell Air Force, the Wichita business community, and local government. This program is offered to high-achieving civilians and airmen, and will present them with the opportunity to make connections that will allow them to affect constructive change in their community. Six bi-weekly sessions will take participants into spaces that not many people have access to; they will learn and hear from base and community leaders; and they will be granted the opportunity to engage with one another and build a robust network of like-minded peers.

If I apply, will I get into the program?
There are a limited number of spots in the program and we expect more applicants than available spots, so not everyone who applies will be able to participate. The 2018 class will have 10 spots available for YPs.
Can I apply if I am participating in Leadership Academy 2018?
Unfortunately you’re not able to apply as we are only accepting applications from YPs who have graduated from Leadership Academy as of the December 20, 2017.
